While I was in Hong Kong last fall, I toured as many 5 star hotels as I could. The Ritz Carlton is fairly new, opened in 2011 and is a return to the city for Ritz Carlton after being absent for many years. The Ritz is located in Kowloon and we were staying at the Mandarin Oriental, so we took the subway over. The hotel is perched 490 meters up. It’s the tallest hotel in the world, according to the sales rep for the Ritz, but there’s plenty of competition and plenty of naysayers, who insist otherwise. I can say it’s the tallest hotel I’ve ever been in. I toured all aspects of the hotel, but this picture is the suite that Lady Gaga stayed in during her concert tour May 2012.

Two views of highest bar in the world, Ozone, located on floor 118. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Imagine sitting outside on the 118th floor for a cocktail?! The last shot is of the Lounge & Bar.
This is the amazing wine cellar. It was so cool to walk through it. It’s all glass and gold!
We had dinner in Tin Lung Heen on the 102 floor with a beautiful night view of the city. This is the Cantonese restaurant (there is also Tosca for Italian cuisine) and we were able to meet the extremely gracious, Michelin starred chef Mr. Paul Lau Ping Lui. He has 34 years of experience with the culinary arts. I enjoyed my first ever Mooncake, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
After dinner the sales rep arranged for us to take the hotel limo to the Star Ferry Terminal for our scenic ferry across the harbor, back to the Mandarin Oriental.
